Israeli troops have opened fire on pro-Palestinian demonstrators who allegedly tried to cross the fence separating Syria in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The incident was a part of a wave of Palestinian demonstrations marking the 44th anniversary in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

Israel has since returned the Sinai to Egypt and disengaged from your Gaza Strip.

Inside the Gaza Strip, hundreds marched close to the principle Israeli checkpoint.

Protests turned violent on the Qalandia checkpoint amongst Jerusalem along with the West Financial institution town of Ramallah, where some demonstrators threw rocks at Israeli soldiers who fired tear gas and rubber bullets.

Sari, a pupil from Ramallah, said the intention in the protests is usually to call worldwide attention to your Palestinians’ cause. He added that Israeli forces could have aided the demonstrators through the use of force.

The demonstrations are the most recent in a series of coordinated protests called by activists to occur prior to September, when Palestinian leaders plan to head over to the United Nations to use for complete membership as an independent state.

The Palestinians are looking to collect global help for the move, which they say they are pushing as a result of final year’s collapse of peace negotiations with Israel.
